FIA President Max Mosley has summoned all directors of racing organizations gathered within the general assembly to discuss the media impact of revelations about his private life.
The Briton requested that this meeting take place as soon as possible.
In a statement published by the FIA, he declared: « All FIA members will be invited to attend an extraordinary session during which we will discuss the revelations from the tabloid ‘The News of the World’ about my so-called private life. »
« The FIA can say with certainty that Mr. Mosley is preparing legal action against the newspaper in question. »
« It is planned for the meeting to take place in Paris. It will be held as soon as possible. No other observations have been made by the FIA at this stage. »
The Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Honda, and Toyota teams have all issued statements expressing their deep discomfort with the revelations about Max Mosley’s private life.
He insists on organizing this meeting because he wants to reaffirm his current position to the FIA.
The general assembly is made up of more than 200 members. It is therefore likely that some time is needed to organize the meeting.
