Timo Scheider, in an Audi, continues to string together strong performances as he records the fastest time on the second day of testing at Oschersleben.

With a time of 1:21.644, the German is the only driver to have gone below one minute and 22 seconds. Markus Winkelhock finished second, also in an Audi, while Bruno Spengler took third place in a Mercedes.

« It was a good day. Our testing program progressed well and I am relatively satisfied. We will continue tomorrow, » said Spengler.

Jamie Green arrives just off the podium in front of Olivier Jarvis, who is fifth, with only 81 thousandths of a second behind.

Ralf Schumacher spent a lot of time in the pits today due to a problem in the cockpit area. The repair work took longer than expected, and the former F1 driver was unable to get back on track until 5:30 PM and thus only spent 30 minutes on the track.

« I only did 13 laps, which is obviously very few. I hope things will be better tomorrow, and that I can do a few more laps, » said Schumacher.

The Dane Tom Kristensen completed his first laps in a 2008 version of the Audi A4. Over the course of the day, Kristensen covered a total of 91 laps.

« It was a very special moment since it was the first time I drove the new car. I noticed that it was very different from the old one. We tried different settings on the single-seater, and everything went very well, » said Kristensen.

Mattias Ekström was absent due to his accident the day before. According to the latest information, the Swede is fine and is suffering from slight headaches.
