Kimi Räikkönen doesn’t really know where Ferrari, his team, stands at the dawn of this new Grand Prix weekend in Malaysia. This reaction follows a disappointing start to the season in Australia.
« I don’t know. It’s too early to say, » said Räikkönen.
The Finn, whose team was hindered by mechanical problems in Melbourne, believes he should feel happy if he manages to avoid trouble.
« We will wait and see how things develop. We need to wait for tomorrow’s tests, and I think we will have a much clearer picture of the situation. »
Räikkönen and his teammate Felipe Massa retired during the Australian Grand Prix due to engine failures, and the Finn admits it was a surprise for the team.
« I am not worried, but we are not satisfied with what happened, » he added.
« We knew from winter that we could be fast, and we didn’t have major problems. But when we arrived in Melbourne, we had two engine failures. »
« The season is long. I am not alarmed, no one is panicking, but we want to achieve better results than in the first race. »
