Ron Dennis praises Hamilton’s commitment

Ron Dennis, the head of McLaren, praised the team’s unwavering commitment, suggesting that it played a major role in unifying the McLaren team after last year’s troubles with Fernando Alonso.

Hamilton perfectly started the season at the Australian Grand Prix by securing pole position followed by victory at the Melbourne circuit, demonstrating that the team has not been affected at all by last year’s espionage issues.

Speaking after the race, Ron Dennis admitted that the result had given him a lot of emotion. When asked what he said to Lewis Hamilton after the race, he replied:

« It is enough to say what I thought about his attachment to the team. In difficult circumstances, either the team splits apart or, on the contrary, it comes together. At McLaren, the team has come together. There is a feeling that commitment is rewarded if the results are good. »

Ron Dennis clearly indicated that past events were forgotten and that they would focus on repeating their victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

« We are all looking forward to it. We are certainly not going to spend all our time in our past and certainly not at any Grand Prix. We must learn a lesson from everything he has done in life. We are focused on the future and we do not want to waste energy and time looking back. » he said.

Dennis thinks that it is too early to compare McLaren’s performance to Ferrari’s. Their main rival hasn’t really had the chance to show their full speed at the Australian Grand Prix.

« The pace of the Ferraris during the Australian Grand Prix is not their true pace. And we are under no illusions, their team is very competitive and well-managed. They will be very strong in the upcoming Grand Prix. »
