Williams Report – Double Game for the British Team…

Williams tonight holds the status of the second force since, apart from McLaren, it is the second team to have achieved the performance of placing both of its cars among the 6 that crossed the finish line.

First podium for Rosberg with a fine 3rd place and Kazuki Nakajima benefiting from Barrichello’s disqualification to seize 6th place… it was a good Sunday for Williams. Motivation is high a week before the Malaysian race.

Nico Rosberg – 3rd:

« I am really, really happy and I must say that being on a Formula 1 podium gives great sensations. The collaboration with the team has been going on for quite some time, and they have worked hard over the winter. We have made real progress. I gave everything I had today but it was tough on an urban circuit and in heat that didn’t make the task easy.

« I want to thank the team but also my father for everything he has done to help me reach this level. We have a good racing car. »

Kazuki Nakajima – 6th:

« Getting to the end of the race today was an achievement and scoring some points was as well. Physically, it was exhausting. At the beginning, there was a car in front of me and a clash with it damaged my nose. Then, with the various safety car interventions, the team did an excellent job switching my strategy to a single stop, which put me in the points. »

« Towards the end of the race, I had another incident where I once again damaged my nose. I am eager to be in Sepang, on a track I know better. »

Sam Michael – Technical Director

« It’s a fantastic start to the season, we knew the car had strong potential, but the results weren’t coming due to reliability. We had a few problems during testing, but everything fell into place for the race. »

« The two single-seaters have been absolutely reliable throughout the race, and it’s great that this happens from the first Grand Prix. After that, we are looking forward to Malaysia to achieve a better qualification and strengthen our second place in the championship. »
