The epilogue finally rings for Super-Aguri!

The Super-Aguri team has just announced that it has reached an agreement with the Magma group for the latter to proceed with the acquisition of the team.

The Japanese team also stated that Magma had concluded a contract with Honda as it was supplying the engines for Super-Aguri’s cars. The agreement, therefore, involves the supply and assistance of engines to the team, thereby relieving Honda of this task.

The future of the team became uncertain when, during the winter, Super-Aguri was unable to participate in several test sessions due to financial problems.

The buyout process will proceed slowly over the coming weeks.

« I am pleased to announce our new partner and our 2008 drivers at this stage, which is truly advanced in the season. I look forward to this long and fruitful collaboration with the Magma Group, » stated the team principal, Aguri Suzuki, without specifying the extent of this group’s involvement.

Super-Aguri also confirmed on this Monday that Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson would be the two race drivers for this season.

« As I saw them continue their work within our team, I was not at all worried about our drivers for 2008. »

« It will be a great advantage for us to be able to work with them again this year. For Anthony, this season will be his second as a racing driver, I expect him to deliver good performances and score some points, » added Suzuki.

« For Takuma, I want his excellent work from last season to be rewarded. Therefore, I have decided to keep him in this role. It will be an interesting season, and we will do our best to help them achieve these goals. »
