Nigel Stepney welcomed the announcement made by the FIA regarding not being officially sanctioned but criticized the poor management of the governing body in this matter over the past six months.

Reacting to the FIA’s statement, he explained today that he was delighted that the FIA had dropped any prosecution, but criticized the fact that it took several months to reach this conclusion.
Stepney is still suspected of industrial espionage against Ferrari, but the former mechanic maintains that he is innocent in this matter.
Sian Nath, Stepney’s lawyer stated: « It should be noted that Mr. Stepney has never expressed any dishonest intent. The FIA is fully aware of this. »
He himself said he was particularly disappointed with the FIA president, Max Mosley, because even after sending him a letter last August, the two parties have never met since.
« I will tell everything in my book, » he stated, who plans to publish his autobiography a little later this year.
