Lewis Hamilton experienced a highly interesting 2007 season for his first year in Formula 1. The McLaren driver is motivated and eager to hit the chicanes at Albert Park in Melbourne.
The Brit finished last year just one point behind the world champion, Kimi Räikkönen, with McLaren. He was ahead of Fernando Alonso, his teammate, in terms of victories, with no less than four in this first 2007 season.
With this record already listed on his resume, the young Englishman hopes to further improve, progress, and above all, confirm his performances with more victories.
Hotter than ever, the 23-year-old driver commented: « Obviously, the goals for the team and for myself this year, we want to win as many races as possible, improve my performance from last year, and finish all the races. »
My motivation is even higher than last year, but my approach to this season is slightly different.
« Last year, I didn’t know what to expect and I was probably very nervous and excited at every GP. This year, I know what to expect and I’m calmer, but still just as eager! »
Lewis Hamilton also believes he can fight at the top of the standings this year. According to him, the McLaren MP4/23 will be much superior to the 2007 version.
« We have made huge strides forward during the winter tests, and despite the removal of the traction control, for example, the car performs almost as well as before. »
« We will be serious rivals this year! » he warned.
