The third place in the championship this year 2008; Frank Williams does not believe in it despite their impressive form during winter testing.
The FW30 from the British team proved to be much more performant than last year’s, which led major observers to claim that the team could be the main challenger to Ferrari and McLaren.
But Williams believes that their rivals have improved as much as their own team.
« I do not lower myself to what the press says. Our competitors around us, who are numerous, are just as competitive, » he commented.
Formula 1 is never easy, it is not supposed to be easy, but thinking that we will be the third force in the first races is a bit utopian. If that is the case, the situation will be very close with other teams.
Williams, whose team has won eight constructors’ championships, admits having trouble believing that no title has been won in a decade.
« Ten years is a very long time, Patrick Head and I often think about it. But life is difficult, you just have to move forward and work hard to get back to the top level, » added the Briton.
« To say that we have turned a corner… We will be able to affirm it once the season is underway. »
