Coulthard hails Red Bull’s progress!

Red Bull Racing has made a big step forward since last year, according to David Coulthard.

The Scot believes, however, that a potential podium this season will be a very difficult goal to achieve with Ferrari and McLaren.

« I believe we have made significant improvements, » said Coulthard.

« But I think McLaren and Ferrari are far ahead, and then there’s a group with BMW, Williams, Renault, and ourselves, where we don’t really know who is ahead. Many drivers will be fighting for 5th place.

The podium will be difficult if the McLarens and Ferraris finish a race, but I believe there is certainly the potential to make this car one of the fastest single-seaters.

Coulthard’s teammate, Mark Webber, whose team finished in fifth place in the championship last year, also anticipates a very close fight for 5th place this season.

« It’s very close between everyone. There are several drivers who could find themselves in a tight race in the championship, » explained the Australian.

« Between Williams, Renault, and us, it’s very tight. I consider Ferrari to be in front, then McLaren, then maybe BMW, and finally the rest of the teams I mentioned earlier. »
