Nakajima wants to beat his teammate Rosberg

Kazuki Nakajima admitted that he would not be happy in 2008 if his teammate Nico Rosberg was too often ahead of him in races.

Nakajima will experience his first full Formula 1 season, but he insists that he is not willing to accept domination from Rosberg, his more experienced teammate.

When asked about his goal for 2008, he said: « To beat Nico. This will be my greatest objective, because your teammate is actually the only driver you can really compare yourself to. »

« I also want to make steady progress throughout the season. I’m sure my first race may not be the best. I plan to do races where I can be victorious towards the end of the season. I need to focus on myself and do my best. Then, I think the results will follow. »

Nakajima believes that his ambition to beat Rosberg is realistic, but he is well aware that it will not be easy to achieve.

« There is a chance. It’s not an easy thing, as you know, but I think that, yes, there are chances, » he stated.

The Japanese believes that his experience gained during his first race in Brazil last year has prepared him to face the challenges of the upcoming season.

« I think of Melbourne, I would certainly have pressure and much more than at the moment. But, with last year’s experience, I think it will be easier. »

« I think the experience gained in GP2 should serve me well in a few weeks, » concluded the Williams driver.
