Todt senses the sweet smell of victory appearing

One of the heads of Scuderia Ferrari, Jean Todt, admits to feeling confident about his team’s condition after the winter tests.

The new F2008 proved to be very performant from the start of pre-season testing, and was on pace with McLaren’s MP4/23 during these long winter months.

Todt stated that Ferrari was very satisfied with its current form and hoped that the Italian team would be able to retain its titles won last year.

« Ferrari is programmed for victory, it’s in its DNA! So, we will try to repeat the feat this year, » said the Frenchman to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

« We have two excellent drivers, and it seems that the car is very good and very reliable. »

We are satisfied with the current situation. But we must wait for the first races to confirm our hopes for victories.

Todt added a few words about the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher, who was on track for Ferrari on Monday in Barcelona for the last pre-season tests.

« He called me that very evening, and he said he was satisfied. He told me that the situation was encouraging, so if Michael says this and I think it myself… But let’s wait a few more weeks! » He concluded.
