Derek Ringer will soon return to the rally roads. He had not done so since the death of his driver Colin McRae and will assist American Motocross star Travis Pastrana during a rally in Missouri (USA).
Ringer, now 51 years old, co-piloted Colin McRae in the World Championship between 1987 and 1996. Since then, he has been spotted alongside Martin Rowe and Katsu Taguchi before returning to co-drive with McRae in 2002 and 2003.
His record includes a World Champion title with Colin McRae in 1995 and three British co-driver titles.
« If I decide to follow him in other events, I hope I can help him reach his true potential, » Ringer also stated, who will be driving with Pastrana in a Subaru Impreza prepared by Team Subaru USA, which is also present in the junior WRC championship.
Travis’s former co-driver, Christian Edstrom, had announced his intention to retire from rallying to focus on his career and family.
