Seat Sport presents its 2008 lineup in Madrid!

The Team Seat sport presented its new team for the 2008 season of the World Touring Car Championship – WTCC – today, Wednesday, at the Zarzuela racetrack near Madrid.

The five SEAT Sport drivers – Jordi Gené, Tiago Monteiro, Yvan Muller, Rickard Rydell, and Gabriele Tarquini – were present at the event and met with members of the Spanish and international press.

« We want to be number one in 2009, and therefore we must win the title this year. We were close to achieving it in 2007. We are confident that we have the ability to be champions this year, and so logically, it’s our goal for 2008, » declared Jaime Puig, the director of SEAT Sport.

Last season, the Frenchman Yvan Muller arrived at the final meeting in Macau with as many points as the future 2007 champion, Andy Priaulx. Muller was leading in the first race until a problem with the fuel pump dashed his dreams of a world title, as well as those of the Spanish brand at the same time. Muller and SEAT ultimately finished second in the drivers’ championship and the constructors’ championship, respectively.
