The Norwegian Henning Solberg declares that he will do everything to secure a podium finish at the upcoming Rally Sweden, which is the second round of the 2008 WRC championship.

Without having a WRC rally in his country, Solberg considers the Swedish stage as the best opportunity to play at home; he has already participated there nine times.

With five consecutive titles won in the Norwegian rally championship, Solberg and his co-driver Cato Menkerud will be looking to improve on their best result in Sweden, a fourth position, which they achieved last year.

« I still severely lack experience on tracks, so Monte-Carlo was a trial where I wanted above all to get my bearings and finish all the stages. But in Sweden, it will be another story: I will attack to the maximum » explains Solberg.

« The Stobart team is already well placed, so I must not forget that points are very important for the team, but it’s in the snow that I feel most comfortable behind the wheel of a rally car, so we will do our best to secure a podium. »

According to the team manager, Malcolm Wilson: « Henning finished fourth here last year, and last week François was very close to the top three, so I really hope that in Sweden we will take a new step to get on the podium. Henning feels he can deliver a strong performance in this event, so a podium finish is anything but a distant possibility. »
