The A1 Team France driver, Loic Duval, set the fastest time in free practice 2 in Sydney, Australia.
The French driver, who conducted tests in the Japanese Formula in the Land of the Rising Sun yesterday, arrived today only a few hours before the session began. He registered for the drivers at the last moment and set the best time in just nine laps, without knowing the track.
Duval was ahead for this session of Robert Wickens (Canada), Robbie Kerr (Great Britain), and Jonny Reid (New Zealand).
Chris Alajajian, for A1 Team Lebanon, also delivered a very fine performance during this session by placing in the top 5 for a historic first.
Mickael Ammermuller for Germany, as well as Neel Jani (Switzerland) and Adam Carroll (Ireland) are not in the top 10. Other regulars in the top positions are far behind, like Adrian Zaugg for South Africa.
Session No. 2 started at 2 p.m. local time. Duval commented: « It was really tight for me. I arrived at the airport at 11 a.m. this morning and got to the track by only 1 p.m.! So I’m really happy. I didn’t do a perfect lap, but it was enough to set the fastest time of the session. There are still improvements to be made to secure pole position tomorrow. » Commented the Frenchman.

A little earlier in the day, it was the Australian John Martin, on home soil, who set the best time in session No. 1 reserved for Rookies. Duval’s replacement, Jonathan Cochet, took 5th place.
