Racing Engineering team has officially confirmed the signing of Giorgio Pantano as the team’s second driver for 2008.
The Italian, already 28 years old, will thus participate in his third GP2 season, not with Campos Racing, but this year with Racing Engineering. With Campos in 2007, Pantano secured 2 victories, for a total of 5 first-place finishes in the discipline. A year earlier, he had won 6 races driving an F3.
Giorgio Pantano will be accompanied in 2008 by Javier Villa at Racing Engineering.
Alfonso Orleans, the director of the Spanish team, stated: « With our two drivers, we are going to and want to fight for the drivers’ and constructors’ titles in 2008! »
