The N.Technology team, after using Alfa Romeo cars for two years in the WTCC championship, will equip themselves with new steeds in 2008: Honda.

After announcing a few months ago that it had lost its partnership with the Italian brand Alfa Romeo, the N.Technology team was unsure about returning to the WTCC this season. With this new agreement or partnership, the entire team and drivers can breathe a sigh of relief.

The team has indeed signed a contract with Honda’s tuner, JAS, to supply at least one Honda Accord to James Thompson, the team’s lead driver and third in 2007.

“It’s a very exciting project for all involved, JAS, N. Technology, and James [Thompson],” stated Mauro Sipsz, the team director.

« I have always had a lot of respect for JAS and we look forward to working together in WTCC. »

JAS is Honda’s preparer in the BTCC championship (junior to the WTCC), and with this agreement, it is a first step taken for Honda and JAS in a major touring championship.

« We finally have the chance to be in the WTCC and, above all, with a driver capable of winning, » said JAS boss Alessandro Mariani. « This program represents an excellent opportunity for JAS to show that with a great driver, our car performs well. »

Honda’s involvement in the WTCC remains to be defined, but the N.Technology team should not be considered as Independent in 2008. Therefore, the team is expected to make its appearance in the official championship with Honda.
