Loic Duval achieved two podiums today for the 5th round of the 2007-2008 season in A1 GP.

The driver of A1 Team France qualified yesterday in third and first position for the Sprint and Endurance races.

At the end of the weekend, France ultimately finishes twice on the third step of the podium. Enough to be satisfied, but also frustrating for the 25-year-old French driver who expected better.

Referring to the second race, Duval expressed disappointment: « This race was really in our pocket and yet we didn’t win it! Sometimes that can happen… »

« We were quite slow during two pit stops, which made us lose the lead of the race… but there is nothing else to say. »

Arriving at the first pit stop as the leader, Loic Duval left in second position, overtaken by Germany.

Identical scenario for the second pit stop, where after trying to stay on track for one more lap to catch up with Germany, a bad tire change gave Canada the opportunity to take back the advantage.

« I tried to catch up to Christian Vietoris (Germany) by completing one more lap on track. But it didn’t work, and when I came in, we had a problem that ultimately cost us two positions… »

In the championship, France is tied for second place with Switzerland, just two points behind the leader, New Zealand.
