The four protagonists of the moment share the top four spots of this session. Thus, Swiss driver Neel Jani, currently leading the standings, completes the podium ahead of Germany. Christian Vietoris, who replaces Mickael Ammermuller, is only 14 thousandths behind the 5th place, the American Jonathan Summerton.
Loic Duval was very happy with this first day: « In my opinion, it’s the best circuit we go to. Therefore, it’s a bit of a celebration day today, so with all that, it’s really a perfect start to the weekend… »
« I feel really good here, but that doesn’t mean much on Friday. It happened to me often last year and it’s not because of that I was in pole position on Saturday… So that will be my goal tomorrow. » concluded the young 25-year-old Frenchman.
Robbie Kerr for Great Britain finishes 6th. He is ahead of Canada and Robert Wickens, who set the best rookie time this morning, while Johnny Reid, at home, achieves the 8th best performance with New Zealand.
