Triple FIA World Touring Car – WTCC – winner Andy Priaulx unveiled a series of stamps in London yesterday commemorating his historic triple win in the discipline.

This initiative comes from Guernsey Post. It is the second time that the Briton has been honored in this way. The first time, a series had already been made during his first world title.

Sally Diamond Ferbrache, Director of the Guernsey Philatelic Bureau, declared: « Considering what Andy [Priaulx] has achieved in the past three years, we are delighted to celebrate the fantastic success of our hero. »

For his part, Priaulx was once again surprised: « I wasn’t too keen when Guernsey Post asked me to be part of this little stamp collection. I thought they were referring to my height instead, » quipped the short Englishman.

« More seriously, it is a tremendous honor to have stamps in my name. I am truly lucky to have received so many accolades from the automotive world during my career, but being rewarded in such a public way, with the Queen’s approval, is truly something incredible. »

The stamps will go on sale from January 18 and can be viewed on the Guernsey Post website if you wish to purchase them: www.guernseystamps.com
