Robert Kubica inaugurated the first kilometers of the BMW F1.08 in Valencia today. According to him, the new BMW is already impressive.
The Polish driver took the wheel for the first time this year, 2008. Behind the wheel of the F1.08, he was very impressed by the initial performances and his few laps on the Spanish track.
« It’s a good start, » said Kubica.
« I have only driven a few laps so far, but I feel that everything suggests we are headed in the right direction. The car felt more stable than its predecessor with much better grip. I can’t wait to continue testing in the coming days ». he added.
Willy Rampf, the technical director of the BMW team, expressed his relief after this first test. He noted that everything went well and that the machinery seems reliable.
« The whole team was eager for today. We are therefore very happy to have been able to run without any problems, especially since it was our first outing with the F1.08. »
« Now that this first step has been completed, we will review and check all the car’s systems to continue testing without issues and finish the planned program… » Concluded the German.
The team’s testing program should continue until Thursday, still at the Valencia circuit, where Nick Heidfeld will take the wheel. So once again tomorrow we will see Robert Kubica.
