Ho-Pin Tung has confirmed his presence in GP2 for the second consecutive season.
Of Dutch origin, the Chinese driver will be with Trident Racing in 2008, the driver confirmed this afternoon.
Last season, Tung drove for BCN Competition. With a very disappointing season and only 4 points scored, the Chinese driver was promoted to join Mike Conway at Trident for 2008.
« After finishing my first season in the discipline last year, I am really looking forward to racing again in GP2, especially with this new team. » commented the 25-year-old young man.
« Last year, I gained a lot of experience, which is really important in this ultra-competitive world. Therefore, in this new season, my goal will be to achieve podiums, but above all to score a lot of points! » He warns.
« This year, I will be able to use my experience in a high-caliber team and therefore contribute to the continued development of ‘our’ single-seater with the team. This new step marks a new phase in the journey towards accessing Formula 1 one day. »
Tung finished his first season in 23rd place in the 2007 GP2 World Championship. He can therefore logically hope to do better this season.
