Force India fan … see you on January 11th!

Force India plans to announce its driver lineup for the 2008 season on January 11, some Indian sources announced on Sunday.

The team based in Silverstone, recently acquired by Vijay Mallya and the Mol family, had planned to officially announce its decision on the 2008 drivers before Christmas or in the early days of the new year.

But, with Giancarlo Fisichella, Roldan Rodriguez, Christian Klien, and Tonio Liuzzi still in contention for the position alongside Adrian Sutil, Mallya’s decision was surely delayed. All of these drivers, along with others like Ralf Schumacher or Giedo van der Garde, competed for Force India in Jerez or Barcelona during the end-of-year tests.

However, Fisichella currently seems best placed to race in 2008 with the Indian team.

The Indian national newspaper The Hindu claims that Force India will announce the names of the 2008 drivers in Mumbai, one of the most populated cities on Earth.
