Equality of Ferrari drivers in 2008 according to Massa

Felipe Massa, a 26-year-old Brazilian and teammate of Kimi Räikkönen who won the world championship in 2007, insists that Scuderia does not prefer to favor one driver for the next season even though the Finn will officially take car No. 1.

« The strategy will not change, » he said in the columns of the Brazilian newspaper Terra.

In 2007, we won thanks to teamwork, Massa added.

In 2008, for its first year without Michael Schumacher since 1995, Ferrari won the drivers’ and constructors’ titles. Needless to say, the Scuderia was close to perfection.

« Thanks to teamwork, we had a great season. »

The Brazilian finished fourth in the drivers’ championship, 16 points behind Räikkönen, the champion: « We will continue in the same way. Because when you win championships, there’s no reason to change the course of things. »

Massa explained that he will not feel inferior to his teammate during the first race of 2008 in Australia, even though his car will carry the number 2.

« Unfortunately, I had several small problems that prevented me from fighting for the title in 2007. Now, I’m ready for the new season, » concluded Massa.
