Kimi Räikkönen, recently crowned world champion, may be a discreet and reserved man, hence his nickname ‘Iceman’, but even so, Ferrari boss Luca de Montezemolo is confident. The driver can remain just as he is, as long as he continues to win races and trophies for the Scuderia.
Speaking to the Italian press, Montezemolo praised the merits of his two drivers. Räikkönen, on one hand, who won the title in his first year with the Scuderia. And his teammate Felipe Massa, on the other hand, who has continued to strengthen and progress over time with the same team. He has therefore recently been confirmed until 2010.
« Massa was confirmed due to the high level of performance he has shown since 2006. He also ‘impressed Schumacher’ according to his own words for Gazzetta dello Sport. »
« As for Räikkönen, he won and that’s enough. I like his personality, he doesn’t complain, he doesn’t talk much, but he can transcend himself on the track to win, » concluded Montezemolo.
