Parente wins a test with the Renault F1 Team

Alvaro Parente – the winner of the World Series by Renault this 2007 season – has been offered a Formula 1 test very soon.

As per the award planned by Renault for each winner of their championship, the World Series, Parente, also the winner of the British F3 in 2006, will have a test day with a Renault F1 R27.

The Portuguese driver will carry out this test, a precursor to a career in F1, on January 17th, on the Spanish circuit of Jerez.

« It’s a dream come true, » declared Parente a few minutes after the announcement. « My goal has always been to drive an F1 one day. I knew that winning the title would lead to a test with the ING Renault F1 Team, but still, it felt like Christmas had come early when they announced the test date to me. »

« Next month, I will focus all my attention on this point. It is a very important moment in my career. I will accelerate my physical training program so that I am 100% ready by January 17. » Continue le portugais.

As a surprise never comes alone, Parente will also be present at Renault’s stands during the Jerez tests at the end of January.

« I believe that I will be able to learn a lot by interacting with the team members and especially the active drivers over these three days. »

« It is not a coincidence that Renault and Alonso won two titles together. Working with such a team can only be beneficial for my career… » Concluded Parente.
