Adrian Valles will take the wheel of a GP2 car again in 2008 after spending the entire 2007 season in the starting blocks of F1.

The Spaniard, who was a test driver for Spyker this season, even though he was rarely seen, wishes to find an active role and will therefore be part of the FMS team in 2008, owned by Giancarlo Fisichella.

« I had a good relationship with FMS during the tests at Le Castellet on the Paul Ricard circuit, and I am really happy that they wanted me, » confessed the 21-year-old driver.

« It was a good season as an F1 tester with Spyker, but I still think it’s more important to prove that you can race and especially win races. »

« I believe this is a very great opportunity for me to return to GP2. My goal will be to win it and, in any case, win races. It will be the best way for me to solidify my future career in F1… »

In 2006, Valles had achieved only one podium, in Valencia, and had scored just one point in 2005 with Campos. In 2004, however, the Spaniard was the challenger to Robert Kubica for the title in the World Series by Renault.

Paolo Coloni – the team’s sports director added: « I have followed Adrian [Valles]’s performance in other series with interest and he was very impressive when we had the opportunity to test him at Paul Ricard. »

« He was very fast, consistent, and provided very good technical information. The team immediately established a good relationship with him, and I am sure he will be a very serious contender for the title in 2008. » Concluded the Italian.
