Silverstone Circuit, a must-attend event for English Formula 1 supporters, has begun the overhaul of its facilities this week.
Indeed, during the last Formula 1 Grand Prix, the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers’ Association), then chaired by David Coulthard, had requested the modification of the layout of the pit straight and particularly the demolition of a wall at the exit of the pit lane.
The work, which is part of a complete restructuring of the circuit’s equipment, therefore began this Monday and should last approximately six weeks.
The project should allow the circuit to remain on the 2009 F1 calendar… despite Bernie Ecclestone’s concerns about his national circuit becoming financially deficient like its French counterpart.
