Lewis Booth, Vice President of Ford Europe, offered Marcus Grönholm to become ambassador for Ford Europe next season. The two-time World Champion retired from the sport at the end of the 2007 season.
After two seasons with Ford – and two constructors’ titles – Marcus Grönholm might stay in motorsport. Even though his business awaits him in Finland, Ford wants him as the new ambassador for the brand.
The Mikkelsen family is also counting on Marcus Grönholm. The Finn could become a mentor for the young hopeful Andreas Mikkelsen in his quest for an official seat.
Marcus Grönholm had already turned down an offer to participate in the 2008 Dakar Rally.
