Giancarlo Fisichella is patiently waiting for a response from the Force India team to find out whether or not he will be part of the team in 2008. The Italian is considered the favorite to take the second available spot alongside Adrian Sutil.

He impressed the team during the tests in Jerez, Spain. It’s believed that both parties are in the final phase of discussions on awarding the race seat to Fisichella.

And although Force India is the last chance for the Roman to stay in F1, Fisichella is patiently waiting for the final verdict. His competitors are Vitantonio Liuzzi and Christian Klien.

The manager of Fisichella, Enrico Zanarini, stated: « We are very satisfied with the Force India project from the very first moments when all the details were communicated to us. And that was a long time ago, before the line-up announcements from Renault and McLaren. »

« I met the team twice at their factory, Giancarlo once for two days, and we talked with all the people involved. From that specific moment, Giancarlo was clear in his mind, and that’s why he accepted the invitation to the tests in Jerez. »

« At the end of the tests, both parties were satisfied with the work accomplished, but now it’s up to Force India to make the final decision, » he concluded.

It is believed that a decision will be made this week by the team.
