During the first race of the Chinese weekend in A1GP, it was Germany and Mickael Ammermuller who came out on top.

The young pole-man was only six-tenths ahead of Swiss driver Neel Jani, who provisionally retains the lead in the championship, and the home driver, Chinese Chen CongFu…

Ammermuller confirmed that the troubles in Malaysia were behind him: « It was a very good race where we did a good job, yesterday in qualifying and in this first race today. »

« The car was good, and I made no mistakes. In Malaysia, it was off to a bad start, but here everything went well. » concluded the German.

Author of a very clean overtake on lap 10 against Ireland and Adam Carroll, CongFu (China) showed today that China has its place in the series. He thus achieved his first podium in the discipline.

Ireland, battling with the Czech Republic in the last three rounds, retains its 4th position, ahead of Tomas Enge.

Great Britain and Oliver Jarvis lost a position right from the start and are now 6th, ahead of India and France. Karthikeyan set very good lap times throughout the race and managed to overtake France and the Netherlands in the thirteen allotted laps.

The Netherlands and New Zealand complete the top 10, a highly sought-after position in the first round, where Malaysia and South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada held on. Canadian Robert Wickens, who started in 10th, finished this first lap in 15th place.

Lebanon also held on as it ended its first lap in the gravel, throwing debris onto the track and prompting the Safety Car to intervene during the first three laps.
