Honda Racing announced that it will make its decision on its test driver for 2008 before Christmas.
The Japanese manufacturer recently tested Mike Conway, Andreas Zuber, and Luca Filippi in Barcelona and Jerez. The team is therefore hesitating between a young driver and one who might have more experience.
Honda Racing’s CEO Nick Fry said that the team is reviewing the data collected during testing before making a decision on who will be their third driver.
« We are currently examining what needs to be done and, hopefully by Christmas, we will be able to announce something, » he said.
We have tested very good young drivers and of course, we also have the option of much more experienced drivers. So for the moment, we do not know what to do.
Christian Klien was a test driver this year for Honda, but chose to leave his role in order to secure a race seat. His only possibilities would be limited to Force India.
He is currently awaiting a response from the team that has not yet decided on the driver who will race alongside Adrian Sutil. Fisichella is currently the favorite to secure the highly coveted position.
