Loic Duval experienced a very shortened free practice session this afternoon in China ahead of the 4th round of the season.

The driver representing France in A1 GP indeed participated in only a few dozen test laps after experiencing a problem and an off-track excursion without injury to the man, in the gravel.

Duval, following a braking error in a tight hairpin, ended his session with 13 laps on the counter, one hour before all the other drivers. Nevertheless, with the 6th fastest time, the French team remains optimistic for the qualifications tomorrow.

« It was my first mistake in A1GP, » admitted the young Frenchman, currently second in the championship behind Switzerland.

« I missed the brake pedal while taking my turn, and on top of that, I pressed the accelerator pedal! So the car logically went into the gravel… »

Duval remains confident about his chances in tomorrow’s qualifying: « We can remain competitive for the rest of the weekend… We posted the 6th fastest time this afternoon without having participated in the first session and we still have new tires. This gives us hope for a good position tomorrow. »

« I am certain that we can fight for the leaders, but it is always disappointing to miss the tests like that… » Concluded the 23-year-old driver.
