Kubica: The ban on anti-skid is not a problem…

Robert Kubica believes he will not have any adaptation problems during races when traction control is banned next season.

Kubica, who made his Grand Prix debut last year, has never raced in F1 without driver aids.

« I think that for me it’s not a big problem, » said the BMW-Sauber driver in an interview for autosport.com.

« It is certain that we need to change certain things on the car and adapt the driving style. As for me, I adapted quite quickly to these conditions. »

« I also believe that I will adapt very quickly to the tires if they were to evolve in the coming years. »

Kubica therefore finished his first full season in F1 in sixth place in the drivers’ standings.

BMW and their team have been one of the revelations of the year, establishing themselves as the third force behind Ferrari and McLaren right from the start of the season.

The next step is therefore to be able to compete with teams such as Ferrari or McLaren, and that will be much more difficult.

« Yes, next year will be more difficult because we will have to confirm the results and the expectations placed on us, » he added.

« I think that the 2008 season will be a very important year for the team because now we have to repeat the performances achieved in 2007. It won’t be easy because in F1 everyone is working, and no one is sleeping. »

« It was a difficult year, and the winter will be hard as well, » concluded the Pole.
