Rosberg has high hopes for Williams

Next year, the German driver will begin his third season with Williams after a rather difficult 2006 season and a much more promising 2007 season.

And although Williams has not won a race since 2004, Rosberg is convinced that all the ingredients are present for the team to find its way back to victories.

« Last year, there was a major restructuring within the technical team. This group of people has now been working together for a year, and there is a real team spirit, » said Rosberg.

This group is entering its second season of work, which will make the team even stronger. We significantly improved our reliability last year. It is now time to transform this progress onto the track in terms of actual performance.

« Despite being an independent organization, Williams also has one of the best technical infrastructures and, of course, the partnership with Toyota will strengthen the entire technical program. »

« The objective is to move up in the constructors’ standings and achieve podiums regularly. It would be great, of course it’s not easy to accomplish, but I have high hopes for the future. »

Rosberg added that the hope he has in his team’s progress was the main reason he decided to extend his contract until 2009.

« I took this step because I believe in the team’s ability to move forward and I get along well with everyone in the team. »

« I first tested for Williams when I was 17. If our relationship is now five years old, it’s because I’m happy with this relationship. I’m lucky to help move the team towards the front of the grid, so everything is going well, » he concluded.
