Michael recommends a sabbatical leave for Ralf…

Michael Schumacher is convinced that his brother Ralf Schumacher should take a sabbatical and step away from the F1 world. During this time, he can decide whether or not he should continue in this sport, stated the seven-time world champion.

With the difficult test his brother underwent this week in Jerez for Force India, Michael thinks that Ralf should think twice before committing to a team that is not at the front of the grid.

« I don’t know all his options, but seeing his results from the test day, he should consider whether it’s wise to drive or not, knowing that you can’t do better than last, » stated the older brother speaking about his brother Ralf.

I believe there is a more reasonable, safer, richer, and more pleasant option for him. I told him personally that there are so many beautiful things outside of F1. But I don’t know all his possibilities. There may be seats that are not yet reserved, but all possible options must be considered.

Michael Schumacher admitted that if Ralf felt he could still deliver good battles and achieve good results, he should stay. However, he noted that he was young enough to take a break.

« If he manages to achieve good results again he should stay. I think he is capable of delivering good results and is motivated to do so, » he said.

« But for me it’s different. I wouldn’t be very motivated in his position, so maybe he should stop and take a break. He’s young enough to stop, reassess the situation, and come back. »

« I must say that my experience allowed me to participate in the trials in Barcelona and showed that I would probably not have any difficulty in coming back. »

Schumacher reaffirmed during this testing week that he had absolutely no desire to return to F1 competition and that he was completely satisfied with these tests for Ferrari.

« No, certainly not, » he said when asked if he was back.

« Even if I were to participate in tests and help the team in a hundred different development locations, there is no pressure or stress. »

« If I thought about racing again, all the stress would come back. So, it’s so nice to drive a few laps and fully enjoy it, » concluded Michael Schumacher.
