Renault F1 completed its last test session of the year in Jerez this week. However, the preparation for 2008 will still be long for the double world champion team…
The Renault team completed its 2007 testing yesterday (Thursday) in Jerez. The team adhered to the agreement reached last year among all teams: a maximum of 30,000 kilometers is now allowed in private testing per team per season. More than ever, optimizing every lap was a priority! The counters will reset to zero next January, and all teams will again have a quota of 30,000 km to complete during the year 2008. Here is how the French team plans to organize itself until the Australian Grand Prix next March.
– 22/24 Janvier: Valence (premier roulage de la R28),
– 1/3 Février: Barcelone,
– 12/14 Février: Jerez,
– 25/27 Février: Barcelone
After the first races of the season, held overseas, private testing will resume, and the teams will undertake their development program. The season is expected to feature 8 sessions, currently scheduled as follows. Of course, the weather or technical imperatives could alter this plan.
– 14/16 Avril: Barcelone,
– 14/16 Mai: Paul Ricard,
– 11/13 Juin: Barcelone,
– 25/27 Juin: Silverstone,
– 9/11 Juillet: Hockenheim,
– 23/25 Juillet: Jerez,
– 27/29 Août: Monza,
– 17/19 Septembre: Jerez.
Three weeks before the start of the year 2008, the testing team already knows its destinations. The logistics are already finalized: plane tickets and hotel rooms are already booked.
