Nico Hülkenberg, who raced in F3 during the year, will participate as a test driver in the Jerez tests on behalf of Williams, the team confirmed.
The German, who is managed by Willi Weber, must drive during the first two days of what is the last F1 event of the year.
It will be a first for the 20-year-old young man to take the wheel of a racing single-seater.
Williams is looking for reserve drivers for 2008 after moving Kazuki Nakajima from that position to race driver status a few weeks ago.
It is understood that Hülkenberg is participating in these tests to evaluate his potential as a test driver, but it is possible that other young drivers will conduct tests for the team at the beginning of the year.
Hülkenberg is a former Formula BMW champion, who gained notoriety when he dominated the 2006-2007 A1GP championship with the German team. He finished third in the European series last year and has just signed for another season in the F3 category.
