Michael Schumacher has finally approved the idea of a skyscraper in Dubai bearing his name.
In an article in Arabian Business to be published on Sunday, the CEO of the German company ACI reportedly stated that the construction of the Michael Schumacher Business Avenue will begin within the next three months.
A legend of German tennis in the person of Boris Becker will also see another skyscraper rise in Dubai. This one will be named the Boris Becker Tower and will be built by the same firm.
« We are talking about two of the biggest names in sports known worldwide, so when it comes to branding a project, you can’t hope for better, » said Robin Lohmann.
Sources close to the project also told Arabian Business that Schumacher’s skyscraper will have 29 floors and is being constructed for residential and commercial purposes.
The seven-time world champion, now a young retiree, will travel to Dubai next January to officially launch the project.
The building named Becker will have 19 floors, the sources added.
The company ACI has previously been involved in this type of project with the construction of the Niki Lauda twin towers, which are located in the same part of the city.
