Augusto Farfus described his experience of driving an F1 as extraordinary, after completing 33 laps in a BMW Sauber in Valencia yesterday.
The Brazilian, who competed this year in the WTCC championship, had the opportunity to drive a F1 car in acknowledgment of the efforts he has made in the past and continues to make for the German brand. Notably within the framework of the Formula BMW championship.
After fully experiencing this, Farfus stated on BMW’s official site: « A big thank you to BMW and Mario Theissen for giving me the opportunity to have this extraordinary experience. »
« At the beginning, I obviously tried to familiarize myself with the car. Since I had very little time to prepare, I feel some soreness in my neck muscles! »
« Lap after lap, I got used to this driving mode. It’s just incredible how fast things happen in an F1 at the cockpit level. It requires the highest level of concentration at any second, » he continued.
Christian Vietoris also completed the same experience in Valencia yesterday, completing 62 laps, as a token of appreciation for his victory last year in the Formula BMW World Final.
« It was an extraordinary experience, » said Vietoris about his race.
« I have worked for many years on the possibility of driving a F1 car. The G-force during braking and acceleration is simply phenomenal. »
« This car is very fun to drive. This experience has made me even more determined to reach the ultimate goal: to compete in what constitutes the elite of motorsport. »
