The Scuderia Ferrari applauds the decision of the FIA International Court of Appeal, which rejected McLaren’s request concerning the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Italian team saw this appeal as a desperate attempt to change the race results.
The FIA has therefore decided to dismiss the appeal, the Court of Appeal declared that this request was inadmissible and consequently confirmed Kimi Räikkönen as the 2007 World Champion.
Ferrari indicated in a statement that they will now be able to fully focus on the next season.
The Scuderia Ferrari is fully satisfied with the decision made by the International Court of Appeal, which confirms the result of the Brazilian Grand Prix and consequently the confirmation that Kimi Räikkönen indeed won the drivers’ world championship, the team stated.
Jean Todt, the CEO of Ferrari added: « The FIA’s decision puts an end to a very intense season, both on and off the track. »
« This appeal request was the last desperate attempt to change the result obtained on the track and it was rejected. Now, all our efforts will be focused on preparing for the next season, » he concluded.
