The appeal hearing requested by the McLaren-Mercedes F1 team against Williams and BMW Sauber is taking place this Thursday, November 15, but the decision resulting from it is expected only on Friday, announced the FIA.
McLaren has appealed against the BMW Sauber and Williams teams for their use of fuel which was allegedly irregular during last month’s Brazilian Grand Prix, the final event of the season where Kimi Räikkönen from Ferrari won the drivers’ title.
McLaren seeks the disqualification of Nico Rosberg from the Williams-Toyota team and of Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld from BMW-Sauber, who finished fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
If these drivers were to be disqualified, it would mean that Lewis Hamilton from McLaren, who finished seventh in the GP, might have the opportunity to take the world title at the expense of Räikkönen.
Representatives of BMW, McLaren-Mercedes, Williams, and Ferrari were meeting in London this Thursday for the hearing.
