A few days before Rally Ireland, Manfred Stohl claimed victory in Austria during the Rally Waldviertel driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX running on LPG.
The Austrian, a leading figure in the World Rally Championship, made a home appearance to showcase the Lancer Evo IX CNG that he developed himself. With thirteen fastest times, he leads his teammate Stepan Vojtech (Lancer Evo IX) by nearly two minutes and Michal Kosciuszko (Punto Super 2000).
« It’s a very special feeling to win the Rally Waldviertel », says Manfred.
« Especially with an LPG car, it’s significant publicity. We prove that these solutions offer real alternatives in rallying. »
Other rallies are planned during the off-season and, of course, in LPG. This project aims to raise awareness to develop this increasingly essential mode of transport to save the planet.
