At the dawn of the last race of the season in Macau, BMW has confirmed all its 2007 drivers for the 2008 season. The German team, which is currently battling with BMW UK for Andy Priaulx – the reigning champion – to retain his title, does not intend to change a winning team…

« The first 20 races of the championship showed that we were well equipped with drivers », explained Mario Theissen, director of BMW Motorsport.

« We therefore see no reason to change for 2008. Continuity is an important factor in ensuring the success of a team. I am sure that our five drivers will play an important role next season. For now, we are 100% focused on Macau. »

The partnership between Andy Priaulx and BMW will be renewed for the 6th consecutive year. The relations between BMW and Jorg Müller are also longstanding as the German driver has been under contract with team manager Charly Lamm since 2002. His teammate Augusto Farfus has claimed three victories this season for Schnitzer Motorsport and has integrated well into his new team.

Porteiro also handled the BMW 320i well, while his teammate Alessandro Zanardi is already among the big names in the WTCC.
