The Ferrari team announced that Stefano Domenicali will assume the role of Director of Sporting Management, a position that had been held on an interim basis by Jean Todt. This appointment will take effect from January 1, 2008.
Domenicali was the sporting director of the team in 2007. As for Jean Todt’s role, it remains uncertain for the next season.
Ferrari also stated that Technical Director Mario Almondo will now lead team operations, while Aldo Costa will assume the role of Technical Director. The latter was previously the chief designer.
The Frenchman Gilles Simon will remain the engine director within the Scuderia.
Ferrari’s announcement comes just minutes after Honda confirmed that Ross Brawn, former technical director of Ferrari, will join the Japanese team as team principal starting at the end of the month.
