BMW UK has extended the contract of the 2006 WTCC champion – Andy Priaulx – for an additional season.
In 2008, the Briton will therefore be in a BMW 320si, prepared by BMW UK. “We are delighted to know that Andy Priaulx will still be with us, driving a BMW next season. With all his victories, he has already left an indelible mark on the WTCC,” said BMW Motorsport director, Mario Theissen.
« The extension of our partnership with BMW, Crown Plaza, and Team RMB is an additional motivation for the team as we head to Macau. The team has been very united this season, where we had to fight harder than ever for every point. This finale is very exciting, and winning a third world title would be just incredible », commented Priaulx before leaving the Crowne Plaza City Hotel in London to fly to Macau, where he will defend his world title.
« We are truly proud of our association with Andy [Priaulx] and we look forward to the outcome of this unpredictable season in Macau, » stated Peter Walker, the general manager of sports and marketing for BMW UK.
Andy Priaulx is currently tied in points before this final stage of the year.
