Jonny Reid, who is currently racing for A1 Team New Zealand in the A1GP championship, recently stated that he doesn’t want to get carried away and have high hopes, despite the domination that saw him win the last two races in Brno.

The team’s results, consistently in the top 5 since the beginning of the season, allow it to take the first position, one point ahead of South Africa and Adrian Zaugg.

« We are going to take advantage of this good start, but we must not forget that these are just the beginnings of the 2007/08 championship and therefore we must stay focused on the race and keep winning », commented Reid.

He also admits that this season, the competition is much tougher than last year.

« It’s not easy this season because the level has really increased. »

But everything went to 110%, and our team did a fantastic job. This really allows me to be at 100% on the track and attack on all fronts. Continued the New Zealander.

The team boss, David Sears, also believes that Reid has played a major role so far.

« He is certainly better physically and also mentally, which means he makes fewer mistakes and stays much more focused on the track. No one can follow him at the moment. »

The third event of the season is in less than 20 days in Macau, along the slopes of the Great Wall of China. New Zealand and South Africa remain the main contenders for victory, but France and many others are just a few points behind.
