The director of Trident Racing – Alessandro Alunni Bravi – expressed his joy and hopes regarding the good performances of Chris Van der Drift, a driver tested last week at Paul Ricard, for the first time in the GP2 category.
At just 21 years old, the Dutch driver impressed Trident’s leaders by setting a fastest time on the fourth and final day, just 9 tenths off the day’s leader, Zuber.
« Even though we only tested Chris [Van der Drift] for a few days, I truly believe he has the potential to become a leading driver in our team, Bravi stated.
« All our employees were impressed by the comments and remarks made by Chris during this test week. »
I hope that I can count on him during the Asian meetings in GP2 Asia as well as for the main events in GP2. I also hope that he will be able to work hard and do his best to become the future GP2 champion.
Bravi also compared the Dutch driver to Pastor Maldonado, a GP2 driver in 2007, particularly for his adaptability.
« Chris occasionally reminded me of Pastor, for his ability to adapt to an unknown single-seater and to make good lap times very quickly. » concluded the Italian director.
