Mario Theissen, the director of BMW Motorsports, has decided to go to Macau to attend the final round of the FIA WTCC that will take place in Macau in two weeks.
« The atmosphere of a final is always special. It was the same last week in Brazil for the F1 GP. Now I want to follow the last two FIA WTCC races live from Macau. We have a chance to win the drivers’ and constructors’ championship », recalled Theissen.
With Andy Priaulx, co-leader of the championship with Yvan Muller (Seat Leon TDi driver), two other BMW drivers can become champions with Augusto Farfus and Jörg Müller being 10 and 15 points behind the lead.
Theoretically, Andy Priaulx is in the best position [for the title], but Augusto Farfus and Jorg Muller also have a chance, anything is possible in Macau, explained Theissen.
« For BMW, the constructors’ championship is a priority. In 2005 and 2006, we had the best cars. This year we want to prove that we can do it again. »
